- Best for Budget-Conscious Small Shops: Graemouse Technologies
If you run a manufacturing operation in Tacoma and you are shopping for managed IT, you have probably noticed the problem already. Almost every MSP within 50 miles has a manufacturing page. Far fewer have a manufacturing practice.
That gap is what this ranking exists to expose, and it turns out to be measurable. We read every provider’s manufacturing documentation line by line. Two of the six name CNC control systems, ERP platforms and shop types by category. Two more publish a manufacturing page that could have the word swapped for healthcare with no other edits. One has case-study downloads and no on-page technical detail at all. One has nothing.
We scored 6 providers serving Tacoma and Pierce County manufacturers on 6 independently researched criteria using the itreviews.co Trust Score. Verified reviews, third-party awards, operating history, physical presence, documented vertical specialization, and service breadth. Same weights. Every provider. No exceptions.
What we found is uncomfortable for the market and useful for you. The provider with the best shop-floor expertise does not have an office in Pierce County. The provider that scored highest overall documents manufacturing the least of the top four. And not one of the 6 has a single published Clutch review.
How We Ranked These Tacoma MSPs
Every provider scored on six independently researched criteria, weighted the same way every time: Verified Reviews (35%), Industry Awards (20%), Years in Business (15%), Physical Presence (10%), Industry Specialization (10%), and Service Breadth (10%).
Three things about this particular market are worth knowing before you read the rankings.
First, the Clutch situation. Clutch verifies reviews through recorded phone interviews with actual clients, which is the hardest review signal in this industry to fake and why it carries the largest share of the review factor. In Tacoma, 4 of these 6 providers have a Clutch profile sitting completely empty. The other 2 have no profile at all. Zero published reviews across an entire metro. Under the published methodology that absence is never counted against anyone. The Clutch weight shifts proportionally to Google and Cloudtango instead, which means Google reviews carry more weight on this page than they would in a market where Clutch profiles are populated. It also means your own reference calls are doing work that a review platform would normally do for you.
Second, review volume runs on a logarithmic scale. Going from 0 reviews to 8 is a big credibility jump. Going from 8 to 80 mostly tells you about business model. A shop supporting 40 mid-market manufacturers will never generate the review count of a provider serving 300 tiny offices. That does not make it less credible. The scale adjusts for it.
Third, specialization had to be documented, not claimed. A bullet that says “manufacturing” on an industries page scores a 3. A dedicated page that names CNC controllers, ERP patch windows, and OT network segmentation scores a 9 or 10. Anyone can type the word manufacturing. Far fewer can explain what happens when a plasma cutter’s control host runs Windows 7 and cannot take an EDR agent.
Why weight awards at 20% in a market where almost nobody has one? Because the absence is the signal. A Channel Futures MSP 501 or Inc. 5000 placement means a third party reviewed audited financials. It is not a logo you buy.

The Top 6 MSPs for Manufacturing in Tacoma
Score Breakdown

Three years running, Inc. has ranked Attentus among the fastest-growing private companies in America. That is not a logo they licensed. It is a filing.
Key Strengths
- Three consecutive Inc. 5000 placements at No. 4,762 (2023), No. 3,940 (2024), and No. 3,751 (2025). We confirmed all three positions against Inc.’s own listing. Inc. verifies revenue growth from submitted financials, which puts this in a different category from most MSP marketing.
- 23 years in continuous operation since 2003 under founder Dustin Frost and CEO Charles “Chuck” Bender, both still active in the business.
- 5.0 rating across 19 Google reviews on their Tacoma listing, the strongest verified review base of any provider with a confirmed Pierce County address. Their Renton listing carries a further 79.
- Four Washington offices are published on their own site, in Seattle, Bellevue, Renton and Tacoma, with service extending to more than 30 additional Pacific Northwest cities.
- Manufacturing sits alongside healthcare, legal, insurance and financial, automotive, government and A/E/C on their documented client base.
- A 96.6% client satisfaction rating and a 10-year average client retention figure. Both are company-published numbers with no independent audit behind them, so weigh them as marketing rather than verification.
Limitations
- Their Clutch profile exists and contains nothing. For a company this size with this much growth, an empty verification profile is a real gap.
- Manufacturing is published, not built out. The manufacturing page names Control Systems Support and NIST 800-171 Compliance as service lines and offers five case-study downloads, but the page itself carries no named ERP platform, no PLC or CNC controller detail, no documented segmentation architecture, and no distinction between a machine shop and a food processor. If your problem is a segmented production network, this is not where that depth lives.
- The Tacoma address at 748 Market St #159 is a suite listing in a downtown building rather than a full operations center. Headquarters, engineering, and leadership sit in Renton, roughly 25 miles north.
- Procurement and installation services are limited to existing managed-services clients, which their own site states plainly.
Best For
Manufacturing companies in the 25 to 200 user range that want a financially stable, fast-growing regional MSP handling standard business IT well, with a real Tacoma phone number and a 253 support line. Not Ideal For
Shops whose actual pain is production-network security, legacy machine controllers, or a CMMC assessment deadline. Also a poor fit for buyers who screen shortlists on Clutch verification. Why They Rank #1
Attentus provides outsourced IT management to small and mid-sized Pacific Northwest businesses that cannot justify a full internal IT department, and what separates them in this market is verifiable financial durability rather than vertical depth. The Trust Score rewards independently audited signals heavily, and Attentus is the only provider on this page that has any. Three Inc. 5000 years plus 23 years of continuous operation plus the best verified review base in Tacoma carried them past four competitors with better manufacturing stories. Should that make them your automatic pick? No. Read the next three entries first. This is a case where the highest score and the best fit are probably different answers, and we would rather say that plainly than let a number do your thinking.
Score Breakdown

Operating from 1515 Dock St, ArgoCTS is the only provider here whose headquarters, engineers, and manufacturing practice all sit inside Tacoma city limits.
Key Strengths
- Confirmed Tacoma headquarters at 1515 Dock St with a verified Google Maps presence and a perfect 5.0 rating across 11 reviews.
- Their manufacturing page names specifics rather than categories. ERP platform maintenance, inventory management software, CNC control systems, and production floor technology are all named on the page, which we read directly. It reads like somebody who has stood on a shop floor wrote it.
- A named manufacturing client, Winterwood Cabinetry, publicly credits them with handling machine integrations and uptime requirements. Named client references from actual manufacturers are rare in this market.
- Over 20 years of continuous operation by the company’s own account, with a school client that has stayed with them more than 15 years.
Limitations
- Clutch lists them at 2 to 9 employees. That is a small bench for a manufacturer running multiple shifts or multiple sites.
- Their Clutch profile carries zero reviews and no case studies.
- No named compliance frameworks. No CMMC, NIST 800-171, or ISO 27001 documentation surfaced anywhere on their site. If your customers are pushing compliance requirements down the supply chain, you would need to press them hard on this.
- No third-party award recognition of any kind found in research, which is the single factor holding them out of the top spot.
Best For
Tacoma-area manufacturers under roughly 75 users who want a genuinely local provider, direct access to decision-makers, and someone who understands what a production ERP outage costs by the hour. Not Ideal For
Multi-site operations, defense supply chain manufacturers with CMMC obligations, or any shop that needs a deep engineering bench available around the clock. Why They Rank #2
Two factors did the work. A perfect 10 on physical presence, which nobody else earned, and an 8 on specialization built from documentation rather than claims. What kept them from #1 was the award column, where they scored a 1. That is a 20% weight producing almost nothing. Fix that gap and this ranking flips.
Score Breakdown

Spyderweb runs CMMC 2.0, HIPAA, and PCI programs simultaneously out of a Regents Blvd office about 4 miles from downtown Tacoma.
Key Strengths
- Broadest documented service stack of any provider here. Managed IT, a separate managed security practice, CMMC readiness, backup and disaster recovery, Azure, business VoIP, and quarterly vCIO reviews, all published rather than implied.
- Managing IT for Washington businesses since 2003, with on-site engineers dispatched locally rather than routed down from Seattle.
- Compliance is segmented by who actually needs it: CMMC 2.0 for DoD suppliers, HIPAA for clinics feeding into the MultiCare network, and PCI for Tacoma retail. That matters enormously for anyone supplying Joint Base Lewis-McChord contractors.
- They publish VMware-to-Proxmox migration work as a service line, aimed at clients leaving Broadcom’s VMware pricing. It is a specific and unglamorous capability that tells you something about the engineering culture.
Limitations
- Manufacturing appears as “light manufacturing” in their Tacoma market copy, listed alongside law firms, clinics, freight forwarders and defense contractors. Real, but thinner than defense and healthcare in their documentation, and no shop-floor detail behind it.
- No Clutch profile at all, so there is no verified client interview record to read.
- 7 Google reviews is a thin base for a firm operating 23 years.
- No Tier 1 award recognition confirmed. The site describes itself as award-winning without naming an award, which is not something we can score.
- The office is at 725 Regents Blvd in Fircrest, not Tacoma proper, though that is a 10-minute drive rather than a different market.
Best For
Tacoma manufacturers who supply defense primes, handle Controlled Unclassified Information, or expect a CMMC requirement to land in the next 18 months. Not Ideal For
Shops whose only real need is helpdesk and endpoint management. You would be paying for a compliance practice you will not use.Why They Rank #3
Service breadth scored a 9 and physical presence a 9, and they landed within a tenth of a point of ArgoCTS. The separator was specialization. ArgoCTS wrote about manufacturing specifically. Spyderweb wrote about compliance broadly. Both are useful. Only one is aimed at your shop floor.
Score Breakdown

No provider on this list understands manufacturing IT the way inTech does. And no provider on this list has a bigger geography problem.
Key Strengths
- A perfect 10 on industry specialization, the only one awarded on this page, and we re-read the page to earn it. Their manufacturing documentation breaks down by shop type: “CNC machine shops, precision component manufacturers, and custom fabrication facilities”, “sheet metal shops, welding operations, and structural steel fabricators”, and “food processors, beverage manufacturers, and specialty producers”, each with different OT considerations.
- 5.0 rating across 112 Google reviews, a figure their own homepage displays. That is more verified review volume than the other 5 providers on this list combined.
- Documented CMMC 2.0 work that survives inspection. SPRS scores moving from deeply negative to a clean self-assessment, System Security Plan and POA&M authorship, segregated CUI enclave design, DFARS 252.204-7012, and assessment against all 110 NIST SP 800-171 controls.
- OMWBE and PWSBE certified, which helps manufacturers satisfy supplier diversity requirements their own customers push down the chain.
- Published pricing of $125 to $225 per user per month for fully managed IT, which they frame as $12,500 to $22,500 a month for a 100-person manufacturer, with CMMC-driven engagements at the top of that band and co-managed arrangements at $7,500 to $15,000. Very few providers in this market put any number on a public page.
Limitations
- Headquarters is 25725 101st Ave SE in Kent, King County, roughly 22 miles from downtown Tacoma. Their Tacoma page is a service-area page, not an office, and their own homepage lists Tacoma among cities served rather than cities occupied. Physical presence scored a 3 as a result, and that penalty cost them roughly 0.6 points and two ranking positions.
- Founded 2013 by the company’s account, which puts them at 13 years against competitors running 19 to 36. Real experience, shorter track record.
- 11 to 50 employees per LinkedIn. Capable, but not a large bench.
- No Tier 1 industry award confirmed. Their state certifications are procurement credentials, not third-party performance recognition.
Best For
Tacoma and South Sound manufacturers whose actual problem is on the production network. Legacy machine controllers that cannot run modern endpoint agents, OT/IT segmentation, ERP patch windows scheduled around shift changes, or a CMMC Level 2 deadline attached to a DoD contract. Not Ideal For
Shops that need an engineer physically on site inside an hour on a routine basis, or buyers who weight local headquarters heavily in vendor selection. Why They Rank #4
This is the clearest methodology tension on the page, so we will state it directly. The Trust Score weights physical presence at 10% and awards at 20%, and inTech scores poorly on both. It scores a perfect 10 on the one factor that matters most to a manufacturer specifically. If you are a Tacoma machine shop with a segmentation problem and a compliance deadline, the #4 provider on this list is very likely your best call, and we would rather publish that contradiction than quietly re-weight the model to hide it.
Score Breakdown

Founded in 1990, Seitel has been supporting Puget Sound organizations longer than any other provider on this page by a 13-year margin.
Key Strengths
- 36 years of continuous operation, the longest documented history in this market. The firm traces to Seitel Leeds & Associates in 1990, restructured as Seitel Systems LLC in 2006, and became employee-owned through an ESOP in 2022.
- Confirmed Tacoma office at 221 S 28th St alongside locations in Seattle and Bellingham.
- The only provider here with a Cloudtango profile, which we confirmed directly. It adds a small IT-specific verification signal the others lack.
- A published hybrid model combining traditional professional services with managed support, including scheduled on-site maintenance visits rather than remote-only coverage.
Limitations
- Their client base skews toward government agencies, nonprofits, and utility districts. Public references include the Puget Sound Regional Council, Lakehaven Utility District, and Woodinville Water District. Credible work. Not manufacturing.
- No manufacturing documentation found anywhere on their site, which is the single largest gap on this page relative to what a shop actually needs.
- 6 Google reviews and an empty Clutch profile.
- Their published service documentation is lighter on modern security tooling than every other provider in the top 5.
Best For
Manufacturers with heavy public-sector contracting exposure, municipal utility relationships, or a preference for scheduled on-site engineering over a remote-first model. Not Ideal For
Any manufacturer whose selection criteria start with vertical expertise. Seitel’s strength is institutional stability, not shop-floor knowledge. Why They Rank #5
Tenure and physical presence carried them into the top 5. Specialization pulled them back down. A 4 on the manufacturing factor against a 10 from inTech is a 6-point swing on a 10% weight, and in a field this tightly bunched, that is the whole difference.
Score Breakdown

Operating from Lakewood since 2007, Graemouse serves South Tacoma and Pierce County small businesses with a flat-rate model.
Key Strengths
- 19 years serving the Tacoma and Lakewood corridor.
- Their published vendor stack names real tools rather than categories. Arctic Wolf, Fortinet, SentinelOne, Huntress, Veeam, VMware, and Azure among them.
- Flat-rate proactive support pricing, which removes the billing surprises that push small shops off break-fix in the first place.
- Verified Google Maps presence at a real Lakewood address, roughly 8 miles from downtown Tacoma, with a 253 phone line behind it.
Limitations
- 4.3 across 10 Google reviews, the only rating below 5.0 on this page. Not bad. Just the weakest verified sentiment here.
- They do publish a dedicated manufacturing page, and it is the clearest example on this page of the template problem. It talks about industrial networks, connected devices and production data without naming a single ERP platform, machine controller, segmentation method or compliance framework. The same copy would work for a law firm.
- Empty Clutch profile and no award recognition of any kind.
- Lakewood is fine for scheduled work and less fine when a line is down and you need somebody in the building.
Best For
Small South Tacoma and Lakewood operations under 25 users that want predictable monthly costs and a nearby team, and whose IT problems are office-side rather than production-side.Not Ideal For
Anyone with OT infrastructure, compliance obligations, or multi-shift uptime requirements. Why They Rank #6
Graemouse scored respectably on tenure and presence and poorly on everything the other five compete on. The gap between a 4.7 and the 5.9 above it is mostly documentation. There may be more capability here than the public record shows, which is worth remembering when you read any ranking built on public signals.
How to Choose an MSP for Your Tacoma Manufacturing Operation
Start with your actual constraint. If it is compliance, shortlist Spyderweb and inTech. If it is the production network, inTech. If it is response time and local accountability, ArgoCTS. If it is organizational stability, Attentus or Seitel. That is the short version. Here is what sits underneath it.
Ask where the tickets get answered. Tacoma is 32 miles from Seattle, and a meaningful number of providers marketing here dispatch from King County. That is not automatically disqualifying. Kent-based inTech scores a 10 on manufacturing expertise precisely because they built a practice, not a page. But you should know the answer before you sign, not after your first outage at 6 a.m. on a Tuesday.
Test the manufacturing claim in about 90 seconds. Ask two questions. How would you segment our production VLAN from the business network without taking down the line? And what is your patch strategy for a machine controller that cannot be rebooted during a shift? A provider with a real practice answers immediately and specifically. A provider with a template page changes the subject to backups.
Size your compliance exposure honestly. Pierce County’s manufacturing base runs heavily into aerospace and defense. Sekisui Aerospace and Toray Composite Materials are among the region’s major employers, Boeing operates a fabrication division in Puyallup, and Joint Base Lewis-McChord employs roughly 54,000 people. If you are anywhere in that supply chain, CMMC 2.0 will reach you. Choosing an MSP without a documented compliance practice means changing MSPs later, mid-audit, which is the worst possible time. Our Tacoma defense and military MSP ranking covers that side of the market in more depth.
Budget realistically. The only provider on this page publishing rates is inTech, at $125 to $225 per user per month for fully managed IT, with CMMC-driven engagements at the top of that band and co-managed arrangements running $7,500 to $15,000 a month for a 100-person shop. Treat that as the reference point rather than a market average. Quotes far below it usually mean a thinner stack, offshore support, or both. Quotes far above should come with a written explanation of what you are getting.
Weight the review gap correctly. Every provider here has thin third-party verification. Do not treat that as a reason to skip diligence. Treat it as a reason to do it yourself. Ask for 3 references from manufacturers of comparable size and actually call them. One more filter worth applying: the Manufacturing Industrial Council of South Sound, run through the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber, exists partly to strengthen existing manufacturers in the region. Peer recommendations from that network will tell you more about a local MSP’s actual performance than any provider website will.
The Bottom Line
Attentus Technologies ranks #1 for Tacoma manufacturing IT at 7.5/10, carried there by three consecutive Inc. 5000 placements, 23 years of continuous operation, and the strongest verified review base of any provider with a confirmed Tacoma address. For a growing manufacturer that needs business IT handled well by a financially stable firm, they are a defensible first call.
They are not the right answer for everyone, and this ranking should not pretend otherwise. If your problem lives on the production floor, inTech Consulting at #4 has documentation nobody else here comes close to, and the Kent headquarters is a tradeoff worth weighing rather than a disqualification. If you need a Tacoma-based team that has already written about CNC control systems, ArgoCTS. If a CMMC deadline is coming, Spyderweb.
Scores measure credibility. Fit is still your call. If your operation sits in more than one of these buckets, our Tacoma defense and military ranking and Tacoma healthcare ranking score several of these same providers against a different set of requirements.

What we changed before publishing
Every one of the six rows below reconciles exactly against its published total, so the scoring arithmetic is sound and the rank order stands as researched. Six claims in the underlying research did not survive verification, and we would rather list them than quietly publish around them. None of them moved a score or a position.
- Graemouse was described as having no vertical specialization pages of any kind. They publish seven industry pages, including a dedicated manufacturing page. We read it. It names no ERP platform, no machine controller, no segmentation method and no compliance framework, so the 3 out of 10 on specialization stands on substance. The claim of absence does not.
- Attentus was described as having no manufacturing page and no NIST 800-171 documentation. They have both. Their manufacturing page names Control Systems Support and NIST 800-171 Compliance as service lines and offers five manufacturing case-study downloads. The depth criticism survives, because the page carries no ERP platform, no controller detail and no segmentation architecture, so the 5 out of 10 stands.
- inTech’s published pricing was given as $175 to $225 per user per month. Their own page says $125 to $225, framed as $12,500 to $22,500 a month for a 100-person manufacturer, with co-managed work at $7,500 to $15,000. Corrected everywhere it appears, including the budget guidance and the FAQ.
- inTech was credited with ITAR coverage. ITAR appears nowhere in their compliance documentation and has been dropped. SPRS remediation, System Security Plan and POA&M authorship, CUI enclave design, DFARS 252.204-7012 and all 110 NIST SP 800-171 controls do verify, and are reported as such.
- The research described a missing-platform penalty in which half the Clutch weight is permanently lost. No such rule exists. The published methodology states that absence from a platform is never treated as a negative signal and that the weight shifts proportionally to Google and Cloudtango. The section above now describes the rule that actually applies. It was applied identically to all six providers under either reading, so no total and no position changes.
- Spyderweb’s office was listed in Tacoma. 725 Regents Blvd is in Fircrest, about 4 miles from downtown Tacoma. Corrected in the table and the card. It does not affect their 9 out of 10 on presence, and it reinforces the finding that ArgoCTS is the only provider headquartered inside Tacoma city limits.
- Two founding years rest on company statements rather than records. ArgoCTS claims over 20 years of operation while directory listings date the entity to 2007, and inTech’s 2013 founding is company-stated and was flagged as unverifiable in our Tacoma defense ranking. Neither reading changes the tenure score by enough to move a position, and both are reported as company-stated.
| Rank | Provider | Reviews 35% | Awards 20% | Years 15% | Presence 10% | Spec. 10% | Breadth 10% | Total |

Figures above are 0 to 10 sub-scores for each factor, not weighted contributions. Each total is the weighted sum, with Reviews at 35%, Awards 20%, Years 15%, Presence 10%, Specialization 10%, and Breadth 10%. All six rows were independently recomputed against the published totals and all six matched exactly, at 7.515, 6.460, 6.360, 6.125, 5.910 and 4.720. No sub-score was adjusted to make a total work. Review data was collected from Google Maps and Clutch profiles. No provider on this page has a published Clutch review, so that weight redistributes to Google and Cloudtango under the published methodology rather than counting against anyone. No paid placements, no provider-submitted data.
