How Rankings Work

How your company gets evaluated

We research every provider independently. You don’t need to apply or pay. If your company operates in one of our covered markets, we find you — and score what the data shows.

01
We identify providers

Our research team catalogs IT providers across 20+ US metros using Clutch, Cloudtango, Google Business Profiles, and MSP industry directories. No application required to be found.

02
We pull verified data

Review ratings, certifications, years in operation, awards, and service documentation are gathered from public and third-party verified sources on a regular cadence.

03
We apply the scorecard

Each provider receives a Trust Score across six weighted factors. The same criteria apply to every company in every market — no exceptions, no adjustments for size or spend.

04
Scores refresh quarterly

Rankings update every quarter. New certifications, industry awards, and improved review records are reflected in the next scoring cycle. Recent performance weighs more heavily.

The Scoring Model

Six factors.
One standard.

Every provider is evaluated on the same six criteria. The weights are published. The data sources are named. Nothing is hidden, and nothing is negotiable.

35%
Review ScoreClutch (verified interviews), Google, and Cloudtango. Clutch carries the most weight — it requires real client phone interviews, not self-submitted ratings.
20%
Awards & RecognitionChannel Futures MSP 501, CRN MSP 500, Inc. 5000, Cloudtango MSP Select. Named, independently published lists only.
15%
Years in BusinessFounding year cross-referenced across company website, LinkedIn, and domain registration. Most conservative verifiable date used.
10%
Physical PresenceVerified office address in the ranked market, Google Maps presence, and consistency between claimed service area and documented locations.
10%
Industry SpecializationDocumented vertical expertise — named compliance certifications (HIPAA, CMMC, SOC 2), specific case studies, and vertical-focused service pages.
10%
Service BreadthDepth of documented service offering — not just a bullet list. “Cybersecurity” with no supporting detail scores very differently from a documented security stack.

No provider can purchase a higher score. The Trust Score is calculated from independent data sources we control. There is no mechanism to buy placement — because the score isn’t a product.

Provider Questions

Things providers ask us

No. There is no mechanism to purchase a higher rank, a featured listing, or any form of paid placement on ITreviews.co. The Trust Score is calculated from independent data sources. A provider’s marketing budget has zero influence on their position. That independence is the entire product — it’s what makes the ranking worth anything to the buyers using it.
Send us a message via the contact page with your company name, primary market, and provider type (MSP, MSSP, VAR, IT staffing). We’ll add you to the research queue for your city. Listing is free — we evaluate every provider using the same published criteria regardless of how they came to our attention.
Contact us with the specific factor you believe is scored incorrectly and the supporting documentation — for example, a Clutch profile link, a named award citation, or your founding date with a source. We verify independently and update if the data supports the correction. We don’t change scores based on preference — only on verifiable evidence.
Focus on the things that actually signal quality: build your Clutch review record (verified client interviews carry the most weight at 35%), earn named industry recognition (Channel Futures MSP 501, CRN MSP 500), document your compliance certifications publicly, and make your service depth verifiable on your website. These are the exact signals the Trust Score measures — and they’re the same things buyers actually care about.
Rankings refresh quarterly. If you’ve recently added Clutch reviews, won a new industry award, or earned a certification, that improvement will be reflected in the next quarterly cycle. We weight recent performance more heavily — a provider that has improved in the last 12 months will see that reflected faster than older signals.
We currently publish live rankings for Los Angeles, Charlotte, Dallas, Denver, Houston, and Minneapolis. New cities are added quarterly. If your market isn’t listed yet, contact us to request it — we prioritize cities based on buyer demand. We cover MSPs, MSSPs, VARs, and IT staffing firms.
