- Regulated firm that wants a 24/7 security operations center behind a Michigan team: Safety Net (Thrive)

- Buyer who wants the biggest Google review base: Fuse Technology Group
A managed service provider, or MSP, runs a company’s IT for a monthly fee. The contract typically covers help desk support, security monitoring, backups, and device management. This page ranks the Michigan MSPs with the strongest public track records, and it scores them all the same way.
Michigan isn’t one MSP market. It’s at least three. A Southfield law firm, a Grand Rapids manufacturer, and a Saginaw credit union can all search “best MSPs in Michigan” and need three different providers.
That’s why this ranking starts with geography. Four of the eight providers below are headquartered in Southeast Michigan, two in the Grand Rapids area, and one in Saginaw, while the eighth, Safety Net, has bases in both Farmington Hills and Traverse City, which makes it the only ranked provider with a northern Michigan footprint. Upper Peninsula buyers should ask every provider where its engineers actually live.
Every provider is scored with the itreviews.co Trust Score, a six-factor model built on public signals. No provider can buy their way to the top of our rankings. We cover one market. We apply one standard.
It’s a tight race at the top. Grand Rapids Tech and Coretek both display as 7.4, and the gap between them is about 0.05 points.
How Did We Compare These Providers?
Six factors, fixed weights, identical for every provider on every itreviews.co list.

Two scoring rules shape this list. A provider with no Clutch reviews loses half the Clutch weight, because Clutch reviews come from verified client interviews, and review volume is scored on a curve, so going from 0 to 8 reviews counts for far more than going from 8 to 80.
Those rules decided a lot here. Five of the eight providers have a Clutch profile with no reviews on it, and we couldn’t confirm Clutch reviews for Safety Net. One verified 5.0 Clutch review adds about 0.6 points to a provider with a perfect Google profile. That’s how a single 2020 review helps put Grand Rapids Tech first.
We can’t see anyone’s ticket queue. We can see what’s public, and that’s what we scored.
How Do Michigan's Top MSPs Compare?

| Coretek | 7.4 | Southeast | CRN Elite 150 in 2025 and 2026, Azure Expert MSP | 5.0 (5) | Profile, no reviews | Azure-heavy mid-market |
| CTS Companies | 7.1 | Southeast | No. 384 on the 2026 MSP 501, self-reported | 4.8 (59) | Profile, no reviews | Phones and IT together |
| Real IT Solutions | 7.0 | West | None found | 4.9 (86) | 5.0 (14) | Small West Michigan businesses |

Where Do Michigan's Ranked MSPs Actually Sit?
| Region | Providers ranked here |
|---|---|
| Southeast Michigan | Coretek, CTS Companies, Huntington Technology, Fuse Technology Group, Safety Net (Farmington Hills) |
| West Michigan | Grand Rapids Tech, Real IT Solutions |
| Mid-Michigan and the Thumb | Yeo & Yeo Technology |
| Northern Michigan | Safety Net (Traverse City) |
| Upper Peninsula | None |
Lansing and Ann Arbor have no ranked headquarters. CTS’s directory profiles list an Ann Arbor office, which is the closest any ranked provider comes.
Why Can a 5.0 Google Rating Rank Below a 4.8?
Fuse Technology Group has the best Google profile on this page, 5.0 stars across 158 reviews. It ranks eighth.
CTS Companies has 4.8 across 59 and ranks third. Volume stops earning extra credit at 60 reviews, so Fuse’s 158 buys no more than a provider with 61, and Google is only one slice of the 35% review weight. CTS says it ranked No. 384 on the 2026 MSP 501, has been in business since 1980, and documents a wide service stack, while for Fuse we found no verified awards and no Clutch reviews. Reviews matter. They aren’t the whole ranking.
Who Are the 8 Best MSPs in Michigan?

Grand Rapids Tech is the closest thing West Michigan has to a one-stop shop. Justin Ayers founded it in 2010, and the service list now runs from managed IT and cybersecurity to AI services, business phones, security cameras, web design, and marketing, all sold under one roof.
Credentials are real but uneven. It holds a 2026 CRN Pioneer 250 listing and a 4.9 Google rating across 70 reviews. On Clutch it has a single review, a 5.0 from a Kent County real estate brokerage posted in August 2020. One review is thin. It still counts under the scoring tables, and it’s a big reason this provider edges Coretek.
Industry documentation is where it pulls ahead. The site gives dedicated pages to manufacturing, medical, financial, government and public sector, nonprofit, cannabis, commercial real estate, and restaurants and retail, and it publishes a manufacturing cybersecurity case study. No other provider here that we could read documents as many industries, which is why specialization scores an 8.
Focus is the catch. Clutch’s profile splits the work into 30% building security, 30% managed IT, and 20% web design, so this isn’t a pure MSP, and a buyer who wants a dedicated help desk and nothing else may find the mix wide. Clutch lists 10-49 employees and $100-149 an hour, with the headquarters in Comstock Park. Google lists Grand Rapids.
Against Real IT Solutions, the other West Michigan provider here, Grand Rapids Tech has the award and the broader industry pages, and Real IT has 14 verified Clutch reviews to its 1. Against Coretek the call is closer. Coretek has two straight years on CRN’s Elite 150, while Grand Rapids Tech has more review volume and more documented industries. The Trust Score puts Grand Rapids Tech ahead by about 0.05 points.
That’s a coin flip with a methodology behind it. A few more Clutch reviews for Coretek or CTS and the order changes.
Best for a West Michigan small business in manufacturing, medical, or financial services that wants IT, cameras, and phones from one vendor.
Best For
IT, cameras, and phones together
Coretek sits a hair behind Grand Rapids Tech and plays in a different league. Where Grand Rapids Tech sells to small businesses, Coretek sells to midmarket and enterprise buyers, and the awards show it. CRN named it to the MSP 500 Elite 150 in 2025 and again in 2026, a category CRN describes as providers with on- and off-premises services aimed at larger customers (CRN, 2026).
Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Farmington Hills, it backs those listings with three more credentials.
- Microsoft Azure Expert MSP status, which Microsoft says requires an independent third-party audit (Coretek’s announcement, quoting Microsoft).
- A 2026 Inc. 5000 listing, its fifth, according to the headline on Coretek’s news page.
- An India office expansion announced in May 2025 to support 24/7 delivery.
Review proof is where it gives ground. Google shows 5.0 stars across 5 reviews, a good score on a tiny sample, and its Clutch profile has no reviews yet, though the site does give dedicated pages to financial services, government, healthcare, and manufacturing, which earns a solid 7 on specialization.
A cloud-first mid-market company with a migration on the roadmap fits well. A 40-person office with nothing moving to Azure would be paying for more than it needs.
Best For
Azure-heavy mid-market
CTS started in 1980 as a telecom and office automation company, and the service list still reads that way. CTS Companies is headquartered in Bloomfield Hills, and directory profiles list offices in Ann Arbor and Port Huron plus a dealer network that reaches past Michigan.
Separate pages on its site cover managed IT, help desk, cybersecurity, cloud, Microsoft 365 security, Teams phone systems, RMM, SASE, security cameras, voice, and vCISO services, which makes it one of the widest documented service stacks among the sites we could read, so breadth scores an 8. Directory profiles show 50-249 employees. Google has 4.8 stars across 59 reviews, and its Clutch profile has no reviews.
On its own site, CTS says it ranked No. 384 on the 2026 MSP 501. The MSP 501 ranks providers on revenue, profitability, recurring revenue mix, and operational efficiency (Telecom Reseller, 2026). We scored it as a Tier 1 listing on that basis, but we couldn’t confirm it against the published list.
Compare it with Real IT Solutions, 7.1 to 7.0. CTS wins on tenure, 46 years against 20, and on awards and service breadth. Real IT wins on reviews, because it has 14 verified Clutch reviews and CTS has none.
If your phones and your IT should sit under one contract, CTS’s service list makes it the natural fit.
Best For
Phones and IT together
Fourteen verified Clutch reviews, 5.0 stars, as of July 2026. Add 4.9 stars across 86 Google reviews and Real IT Solutions posts a 9.2 on the review factor, the highest on this page.
Matt Kahle and Adam Peterson started the company in 2006, and it’s based in Grand Rapids. Clutch lists 10-49 employees and a $150-199 hourly rate, and The Manifest, Clutch’s sister site, lists a client base that’s 75% small business, while the company’s own site gives dedicated pages to education, financial services, manufacturing, and accounting firms and sells co-managed IT, vCIO guidance, and AI services.
Clutch reviews name a dental practice, a fire and security systems company, a CPA firm, and manufacturers, and clients consistently praise technical expertise and responsiveness. That’s a concrete, varied client list.
Awards are the gap. We found none, which is why it sits fourth despite the best reviews. Best for a small West Michigan business that cares more about what clients say than what trade lists say.
Best For
Small West Michigan businesses
Disclosure first. Thrive, a national managed services provider, announced it was acquiring Safety Net in October 2024 (Channel Futures, 2024). Safety Net’s website is now Thrive-branded and links to Thrive’s compliance and security pages, and Thrive’s announcement says Michigan customers keep their local contacts while gaining a 24/7 global security operations center.
Safety Net dates to 2003. It has a Farmington Hills office per Google and a Traverse City base per CB Insights and a Traverse Connect listing, which makes it the only ranked provider with a northern Michigan footprint. Google shows 5.0 stars across 37 reviews. Channel Futures also reported it on the 2023 MSP 501, a Tier 1 listing but an older one, so awards score a 5.
Buyers should ask about local team depth under national ownership. Who do your engineers report to?
Best For
Regulated firms
Steve Krasnick founded Huntington Technology in 2001, and it’s run SMB managed IT out of Metro Detroit ever since. Its Michigan office is listed as Bingham Farms on Google and Southfield on Clutch, and it also runs an office in East Windsor, Connecticut, while Google shows 5.0 stars across 94 reviews. Its Clutch profile exists but has no reviews, and the mix it lists there puts legal and medical at 30% each.
Huntington’s homepage claims both an MSP 501 listing and a Pioneer 250 listing without naming years. We scored that as Tier 1 recognition and couldn’t confirm the years. No dedicated vertical pages turned up, only a HIPAA disaster recovery blog post, which holds specialization at 4. Clutch lists 10-49 employees and $100-149 an hour. Best for a Southeast Michigan legal or medical practice that wants a long-tenured local provider.
Best For
Legal and medical practices
Yeo & Yeo Technology dates to 1984 and is based in Saginaw, the only ranked provider headquartered in the middle of the state. CRN named it to the Pioneer 250 in 2026. It’s part of the Yeo & Yeo family of companies, which started as an accounting partnership in 1923, and its own description targets organizations with 20 to 150 users, including manufacturers, credit unions, CPA firms, local governments, and construction companies. LinkedIn shows 11-50 employees.
Reviews are the weak spot. Google shows 4.3 stars across 8 reviews, and its Clutch and Cloudtango profiles have none. Its site blocked our automated checks, so the specialization and breadth scores rest on its own directory descriptions.
Best For
20 to 150 user firms
Fuse, based in Ferndale, has 5.0 stars across 158 Google reviews. It’s reportedly been around since 2006. Its site documents managed services, cloud, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, and mobile device work, and it publishes a client case studies page. Its Clutch profile has no reviews, and we found no verified awards or dedicated vertical pages. That’s why a perfect Google rating still lands it eighth.

Detroit-area SMBsWhat Does Michigan MSP Pricing Look Like?
None of the eight publishes per-user monthly pricing we could confirm. What’s public is hourly rates.
- Clutch profiles list $100-149 an hour for Grand Rapids Tech and Huntington Technology.
- Clutch lists $150-199 an hour for Real IT Solutions.
- Directory profiles list $100-149 an hour for CTS Companies.
Hourly rates aren’t the same as monthly managed-services pricing. Ask each provider for an all-in quote that includes after-hours response. For a benchmark, see our MSP pricing guide.
How Do You Choose an MSP in Michigan?
Start with region, then size, then proof.
Region first. A provider with engineers near you answers a hardware failure in an hour, while one three hours away answers it the next day, and four of these providers are in Southeast Michigan, two are in the Grand Rapids area, one is in Saginaw, and Safety Net reaches Traverse City.
Size second. CRN splits its MSP 500 into the Pioneer 250 for small and midsize focus and the Elite 150 for midmarket and enterprise (CRN, 2026), and Coretek sits in the second group while Grand Rapids Tech and Yeo & Yeo Technology sit in the first.
Proof last. Cloudtango’s 2026 MSP Select list weighs cybersecurity, support, infrastructure, and the use of AI (Cloudtango, 2026). Whatever list a provider is on, call two references. For a longer walkthrough, read our guide on how to choose an MSP.

AdRem Systems fell below the cutoff. Its 5.0 Google rating rests on 9 reviews, and we found no verified awards.
We also looked at Vista IT Group, Kinetix, West Michigan Tech Services, GRIT Technologies, and Corporate Technologies. We left them unranked because we couldn’t verify enough of the six factors. Vista IT Group in Grand Rapids has 4.9 stars across 142 Google reviews and a Clutch profile with 2 reviews, so it could move up once its data is complete.
The Bottom Line
First place goes to Grand Rapids Tech at 7.4, and it’s a narrow call. Coretek is right behind it for Azure-heavy mid-market buyers, and Real IT Solutions has the deepest verified reviews in the state.
