Quick Picks

  • Best Overall: Align

  • Best for Co-Managed IT: Exigent Technologies

Finding a good MSP in New York City is genuinely hard. Not because there aren’t enough options — the opposite problem. Hundreds of providers operate across the five boroughs, and a Google search returns a mix of national chains, boutique shops, and listicles written by people with a financial stake in who you pick.

This list is different. We evaluated seven established NYC-area MSPs using the itreviews.co Trust Score methodology, which applies six independently researched criteria to every provider: client reviews from Clutch and Google, industry awards, years in operation, physical presence, vertical specialization, and service breadth. No provider paid for placement. No provider submitted their own data. Rankings reflect scores.

NYC’s IT market skews heavily toward financial services, legal, and media. Compliance requirements under the New York SHIELD Act and NYDFS Cybersecurity Regulation 23 NYCRR Part 500 raise the floor on what a credible MSP needs to document. The firms that have survived 20+ years in this market have real evidence behind them.

How We Ranked These NYC MSPs

Every provider is scored on a 10-point Trust Score built from six criteria. Review data from Clutch (15%), Google (12%), and Cloudtango (3%) makes up 35% of the score. Industry awards account for 20%. Years in business contributes 15%. Physical presence, industry specialization, and service breadth each weigh in at 10%.

We weighted Clutch more heavily than Google because Clutch reviews are conducted via verified phone interviews with real clients. An MSP with 40 verified Clutch reviews has cleared a higher bar than one with 200 Google reviews of unknown origin. Review volume follows a logarithmic scale — an MSP serving 10 large enterprise clients isn’t penalized for having fewer public reviews than one serving 200 small businesses.

Thirty-eight years in one of the most competitive IT markets on the planet isn’t luck. Align’s MSP 501 ranking of #26 globally in 2025 puts them in a tier most firms on any NYC list can’t reach. They were founded in New York in 1986 and have never moved their headquarters. Their financial services vertical specialization — hedge funds, private equity, alternative investments — is the deepest documented on this list.

Key Strengths

  • Ranked #26 globally on the 2025 Channel Futures MSP 501 and named to the CRN MSP 500 Elite 150 in 2026 — five consecutive years at the top of the global MSP rankings
  • Documented depth in alternative investments, hedge funds, and private equity. Shortlisted for Hedgeweek Cloud Services Provider of the Year and Cyber Security Solution of the Year 2025/2026
  • Named to CRN’s 2025 Tech Elite 250, confirming technical depth across Microsoft, data center, and cloud disciplines
  • NYC is not a satellite office. Founded here in 1986, with named engineering leadership and a local team for 38 continuous years
  • Full stack: workplace technology, cloud management, cybersecurity, data center operations, and vCIO advisory under one engagement

Limitations

  • Enterprise orientation means pricing reflects that scope — buyers with fewer than 25 seats should verify the engagement model fits their budget
  • Financial services specialization is deep; healthcare or legal buyers who need equal documentation around HIPAA or e-discovery workflows may find other providers a closer fit
  • Large global footprint can mean less of the small-firm feel some NYC SMBs want from a day-to-day IT partner

Best For

Financial services firms, hedge funds, private equity, and mid-market companies with 50 to 500 employees that need enterprise-grade IT without building an internal team.

Not Ideal For

Very small businesses under 25 seats, or compliance-driven healthcare buyers who need a HIPAA-specialist MSP as their primary focus.

Why They Rank #1

Align has the strongest combination of independently verified signals on this list. A top-26 global MSP 501 ranking, 38 years in NYC, and deep specialization in the city’s largest regulated industry vertical (finance) add up to a score no other provider matches. For NYC companies that need an IT partner with working knowledge of NYDFS requirements, Align is the credible first call.

Net at Work managed IT ERP New York NYC homepage

Net at Work has been in New York since 1996. Clutch shows 4.9 across 92 verified reviews, one of the deepest verified review volumes on this list. Cloudtango named them to their MSP Select list for 2026. They operate at the intersection of IT infrastructure and business systems — running Sage X3, Microsoft Dynamics, and other ERP platforms alongside managed IT and security — with 517 employees and dedicated practices across all three disciplines.

Key Strengths

  • Clutch 4.9 with 92 verified reviews on the NYC MSP listing — among the deepest verified review volumes of any provider on this list
  • Named to Cloudtango MSP Select USA 2026, evaluating IT service delivery, customer satisfaction, and growth
  • 517 employees with dedicated practices across managed IT, ERP consulting, and cybersecurity under one roof
  • 28+ years of NYC operation. Named client testimonials from Fabuwood Cabinetry and Brook Furniture Rental, both citing successful ERP and IT integration projects
  • Stated MSP 501 ranking of #37 in their own Clutch profile description

Limitations

  • If you need a security-first MSP with a dedicated SOC and SIEM as the lead capability, other providers build their pitch around that — Net at Work leads with ERP and IT
  • Buyers who don’t need ERP support are paying for capacity they may not use — their differentiation is most valuable when both infrastructure and business systems are in scope
  • Review language on Clutch skews toward larger ERP project engagements rather than day-to-day helpdesk interactions

Best For

NYC mid-market companies in manufacturing, distribution, or professional services that need a single partner for both ERP implementation and managed IT.

Not Ideal For

Buyers who need security operations as the primary service, or very small companies with no ERP footprint.

Why They Rank #2

Net at Work’s review depth is as strong as anyone on this list and their 28-year NYC track record is real. The ERP layer is a genuine differentiator — for companies juggling separate vendors for IT and business systems, that combination is the right model.

Founded in 1997. Clutch rates them at 4.9 across 9 verified reviews. Google Maps shows 4.9 across 19 reviews at a confirmed Manhattan office at 845 3rd Ave — not a mailbox, a real floor. Cloudtango named them MSP Select 2025. Their co-managed IT model is built for organizations with internal IT staff who need extension, not replacement.

Key Strengths

  • Clutch 4.9/9 verified reviews and Google 4.9/19 — both platforms high-rated, with the Google listing at a confirmed NYC address (845 3rd Ave)
  • Cloudtango MSP Select 2025, confirmed via public announcement from Exigent’s own site
  • Manhattan, New Jersey, Denver, and Los Angeles offices — a real local presence plus the bench depth of a multi-city firm
  • Named HIPAA and healthcare compliance experience documented with dedicated service pages, not just a checkbox
  • Co-managed IT model built for companies with 1–3 internal IT staff — honest about what most 50–250 employee companies actually need

Limitations

  • NJ is their headquarters city — for urgent on-site work in outer boroughs or non-Midtown Manhattan, response time can be longer than from a firm with all staff in the city
  • 9 verified Clutch reviews is a smaller base than Bit by Bit or Net at Work — high-rated but less volume
  • The co-managed model is their strongest use case — companies with zero internal IT that need full outsourcing should confirm the engagement structure fits before assuming fit

Best For

NYC-area companies in healthcare, legal, or financial services with 1 to 3 internal IT staff who want to extend capability rather than replace their existing team.

Not Ideal For

Companies with zero internal IT that need full outsourcing, or those who require all staff physically based in Manhattan.

Why They Rank #3

Exigent’s Manhattan office is confirmed — a real floor at 845 3rd Ave. Dual-platform recognition in 2025 (Clutch leader, Cloudtango Select) and 4.9 on both review sources is a consistent signal. Co-managed IT is underserved on most NYC MSP lists, and it earns them a spot higher than their smaller Clutch volume might suggest.

54 verified Clutch reviews at 4.9. That specific number is worth pausing on. Clutch reviews require real clients to complete verified phone interviews. Getting 54 of them takes years of clients willing to go on record. Founded in 1987 — 37 years in the NYC market — with consistent ownership and no confirmed acquisition activity. Clients span law firms, financial services, manufacturing, universities, and engineering firms.

Key Strengths

  • 54 verified Clutch reviews at 4.9/5.0 — the deepest verified review base on this list. Clients include law firms, financial services, manufacturing, universities, libraries, and engineering firms
  • Founded 1987 — 37 years in the NYC market with consistent ownership and no confirmed acquisition activity disrupting client continuity
  • Client review language repeatedly surfaces the same patterns: dedicated account managers, named engineers per account, low staff turnover, clients staying five to ten-plus years
  • Data center hosting available for clients who want infrastructure off-premises without leaving the MSP relationship

Limitations

  • No confirmed placement on MSP 501, CRN MSP 500, or Cloudtango MSP Select — strong client evidence, thin industry recognition, which caps their awards score
  • 11–50 employees limits scale — multi-location enterprise deployments are outside what this team was built for
  • Review language skews toward smaller firms — enterprise buyers with complex infrastructure or multi-state requirements should look higher on this list

Best For

NYC SMBs in legal, financial services, or professional services that want a long-term partner relationship with dedicated staff, not a ticket queue.

Not Ideal For

Companies with 500+ employees, multi-region footprints, or those needing a dedicated SOC or compliance-as-a-service capability as a primary offering.

Why They Rank #4

54 verified Clutch reviews at 4.9 is the single strongest client review signal on this page among providers with confirmed profiles. No awards signal matches Align or the upper tier, but the client evidence for an SMB buyer who wants to know what working with a provider actually feels like is hard to argue with.

Computer Resources of America CRA managed IT New York homepage

CRA has been in the NYC Tri-State market for roughly 30 years. Named to the 2025 CRN MSP 500 Pioneer 250 — a focus on MSPs serving the SMB segment that tracks closely with CRA’s actual client profile. Google Maps confirms them at 729 7th Ave in Midtown Manhattan at 4.7 stars. Clutch-recognized leader across multiple NYC IT categories including IT services, managed IT, and cloud consulting.

Key Strengths

  • Named to the CRN MSP 500 Pioneer 250 in 2025 — one of the most rigorous independent rankings for MSPs focused on the SMB segment
  • Clutch-recognized leader in multiple NYC IT categories including IT services, managed IT, and cloud consulting
  • 30 years in the NYC market — a real stability signal across multiple economic cycles and technology transitions
  • Microsoft-deep, with Azure and Microsoft 365 certifications confirmed in the context of their Azure partner ranking

Limitations

  • Clutch review data provisionally scored pending full verification — score may adjust once fully confirmed
  • CRA’s focus is the NYC Tri-State area — businesses that span multiple regions or need national on-site coverage will find their footprint doesn’t stretch that far
  • No confirmed Tier 1 global ranking like MSP 501 or CRN Elite 150, which caps their awards score relative to Align

Best For

NYC SMBs with 10 to 150 employees running Microsoft 365/Azure who want a stable, well-recognized local partner with a three-decade track record.

Not Ideal For

Companies needing coverage outside the Tri-State area, or enterprise organizations needing deep compliance infrastructure.

Why They Rank #5

CRA’s Clutch leadership across three separate NYC IT categories and a 30-year track record put them here. Their score is provisionally set pending Clutch data confirmation — if that profile shows strong review volume, they move up. The CRN Pioneer 250 recognition is a real, independently published signal that not every NYC SMB MSP carries.

Netsurit has appeared on the MSP 501 list since 2009 and has won the Global MSP Mentor Award seven times. Their NYC office at 224 W 30th St is confirmed via Google Maps with 15 reviews at 4.6. Their Clutch profile exists but carries zero verified client reviews under the current slug — that’s the single factor that pulls their score down most significantly.

Key Strengths

  • MSP 501 recognition dating back to 2009 — one of the longer documented award track records on this list
  • Global MSP Mentor Award won seven times, an IT-specific recognition for operational maturity and service delivery
  • 450+ person team with 16,000 client care touches per month and a stated 95% remote resolution rate
  • Proprietary Netsurit Productivity Monitor (NPM) gives clients visibility into workforce capacity and technology utilization — something most MSPs don’t offer as a native tool
  • 23+ years of global operation with a dedicated NYC office since 2016

Limitations

  • Zero verified Clutch reviews on their current profile — the independent third-party client verification that Clutch provides is absent, which applies a methodology penalty
  • NYC is a branch of a global organization, not an indigenous NYC firm — for buyers who want local leadership making decisions, that structure matters
  • Some employee reviews reference friction from rapid acquisition-led growth — worth asking how the NYC service model has been affected during evaluation

Best For

Professional services firms, legal practices, and SMBs with hybrid or remote workforces that want both IT management and workforce productivity visibility in one engagement.

Not Ideal For

Companies that want a NYC-native firm with local leadership, or buyers who place heavy weight on independent third-party verified client reviews.

Why They Rank #6

The award history is real and deep — MSP 501 recognition since 2009 is not a one-time appearance. What keeps them here is the Clutch gap: zero verified reviews under their current profile. That’s a methodology penalty, not a verdict on their actual quality. Buyers should run their own reference checks to fill what the platform doesn’t show.

Sourcepass managed IT platform New York homepage

Sourcepass launched in 2020 as a platform company and has since acquired 13 MSPs, most of which had been operating for 20 to 40 years. Their Channel Futures MSP 501 ranking of #35 in 2025 is a top-tier global finish. Pax8 Global Partner of the Year 2025 adds independent validation. Their proprietary Quest platform provides clients with real-time service status, project tracking, and employee onboarding automation — a client experience layer most traditional MSPs don’t have.

Key Strengths

  • Ranked #35 globally on the 2025 Channel Futures MSP 501 — a top-50 global finish in the most competitive MSP ranking in the industry
  • Named Pax8 Global Partner of the Year 2025, independently judged by a major cloud distribution platform
  • Proprietary Quest platform: real-time service status, project tracking, and employee onboarding automation — a client experience layer most MSPs don’t offer
  • 24×7 helpdesk and SOC, with documented healthcare IT capabilities and HIPAA-relevant service pages
  • 13 acquired companies bring combined operational histories of 20–40 years each, underpinning service delivery maturity even if the Sourcepass brand is newer

Limitations

  • Zero verified Clutch reviews under the Sourcepass brand — the acquisition-led growth hasn’t yet produced a unified verified review base on the platform buyers check
  • Google Maps primary listing is in Melville, NY (Long Island), not Manhattan — NYC buyers should confirm which team and location will serve their account
  • Some Glassdoor reviews reference metrics pressure and process-heavy management, which can translate to ticket-first rather than relationship-first culture in some engagements

Best For

Growth-stage NYC-area companies that want a modern platform experience, documented SOC, and an MSP 501-recognized provider without enterprise-tier pricing.

Not Ideal For

Buyers who weight verified long-term client review history heavily, or organizations with NYC-specific on-site response requirements who need Manhattan-based staff.

Why They Rank #7

The MSP 501 placement is strong — #35 globally is not a participation ribbon. The platform is purpose-built for this market. What keeps them at seven is the Clutch gap. Zero verified client reviews under their current brand is a methodology penalty. Their score will update as that data becomes available at the next research cycle.

How to Choose an MSP in New York City

If you’re in financial services or alternative investments: Align scores highest for this vertical and their documentation around financial services IT is the deepest on this list. Net at Work is worth evaluating if you have an ERP or CRM layer in scope alongside infrastructure.

If you’re a NYC SMB under 100 seats wanting a long-term relationship: Bit by Bit’s 54 verified Clutch reviews across law firms, financial services, professional services, universities, and engineering firms make them the most evidence-backed choice. CRA is a strong alternative once their Clutch data is verified.

If you have an internal IT person or small team: Exigent’s co-managed IT model was built for exactly this. You’re not replacing your internal staff — you’re extending them. That’s a meaningfully different engagement than full outsourcing, and most full-service MSPs don’t lead with it.

If you need ERP and managed IT under one roof: Net at Work scores highest for this combination on this list. No other provider here has the same depth across both ERP practice and managed IT.

One thing to verify with any provider: Ask specifically about their SLA for on-site response in your borough or neighborhood. NYC is big and traffic is real. “NYC MSP” can mean different things when an urgent hardware issue happens at 2pm on a Tuesday in Midtown vs. the Bronx.

Align earns the top spot because no other NYC provider combines a top-26 global MSP 501 ranking, 38 years of NYC operation, and documented depth in the financial services verticals that define this market.

For SMBs that don’t need that level of enterprise scale, Bit by Bit’s client review record is the most concrete evidence of what day-to-day IT partnership looks like in this market. Net at Work is the right answer for anyone operating at the intersection of business systems and IT infrastructure.

What NYC Businesses Want to Know Before Signing

Pricing in NYC runs higher than the national average. Most SMBs in the 25 to 150-seat range should budget $100 to $175 per user per month for full managed IT. Companies in regulated verticals land at the higher end because compliance-adjacent services like SIEM, vCISO, and security monitoring aren’t optional — they’re table stakes. Based on Clutch data, Bit by Bit starts at $5,000 minimum projects at $150–$199/hr. Net at Work runs $100–$149/hr with a $5,000 minimum. Exigent is also $150–$199/hr range.
For remote monitoring and helpdesk, no. For on-site response, yes. An MSP based in New Jersey serving Manhattan clients will have longer on-site response windows than one with staff already in the city. Ask for the SLA by borough, not just “NYC.” Then ask what happens if your primary contact is out.
Three places to look. Clutch, because it requires verified phone interviews rather than self-submitted ratings. The Channel Futures MSP 501 and CRN MSP 500, because both use actual financial performance data, not nominations. And years in business, because the NYC IT market is unforgiving and firms that survived 20+ years here have real evidence behind them. Any provider that can’t point to at least one of these three is starting from a credibility deficit.
Break-fix vendors charge hourly when something fails. Their financial incentive is misaligned with your uptime. A managed IT provider charges a flat monthly fee and is financially incentivized to prevent failures rather than respond to them. In a city where downtime has an immediate revenue cost and compliance violations carry documented penalties under the SHIELD Act, the break-fix model creates exposure most NYC businesses can’t absorb.
Depends what you’re optimizing for. National MSPs bring scale, documented process, and sometimes better pricing through consolidated vendor relationships. NYC-specific firms tend to have tighter client relationships, faster local response, and more direct knowledge of the city’s regulatory environment. The best answer is usually a nationally recognized firm with genuine local operations — not a satellite office with a few staff.
