Juan Alba evaluates managed IT providers across U.S. markets for itreviews.co using independent review data, verified industry award lists, and public operational records. He holds no financial relationship with any provider on this page and covers no vertical as a practitioner.

South Carolina doesn’t have the IT services density of Atlanta or Charlotte. But it’s not an underserved market either. The state has a real concentration of manufacturers tied to the defense supply chain, healthcare practices spread across mid-size cities, law firms running sensitive client data, and local governments that need reliable uptime.

The managed IT providers here aren’t all alike. Some built their entire business inside the state and know the territory. Others are regional players that added SC offices as they grew. A few are nationally ranked firms that happen to have a footprint in Greenville or Columbia.

Figuring out which one is worth your time takes more than checking a Google rating. Every provider on this page was scored using the same six-factor methodology itreviews.co applies to every MSP ranking we publish: review data from Clutch, Google, and Cloudtango, third-party industry awards, years of operation, local presence, vertical specialization, and service breadth.

No provider paid for their position.

Stasmayer managed IT and cybersecurity services North Charleston South Carolina homepage

3815 W Montague Ave, North Charleston, SC 29418 | stasmayer.com Google: 5.0 (135 reviews) | Clutch: 5.0 (3 reviews) | Cloudtango: Listed

Stasmayer is the hardest firm on this list to argue against.

135 Google reviews at a perfect 5.0. Three verified Clutch reviews, same score. Founded in 2003 in a University of Massachusetts dorm room by David Stasaitis and Richard Krenmayer, the company has spent over two decades building a client base in Charleston, across South Carolina, and beyond. That longevity is difficult to manufacture.

What the reviews actually say matters more than the rating itself. Across Cloudtango and Google, the consistent theme is the long-term relationship. Clients describe working with Stasmayer for 10, 15, 20 years. One noted the firm helped their organization “step confidently into the modern era of technology.” Another described a working relationship that’s outlasted multiple generations of office technology. That’s not helpdesk satisfaction. That’s strategic partnership language coming from the client side, unprompted.

The service model has evolved with the market. Stasmayer’s current positioning puts cybersecurity and managed IT at equal weight (50/50 per their own service documentation), with AI and compliance work added to the mix. Their vertical focus skews heavily toward legal. Co-founder David Stasaitis has presented at over 60 South Carolina Bar Association CLE sessions on legal technology and was one of the first Gold Clio Certified Consultants in the world. For law firms in particular, there aren’t many SC providers with that level of documented, verifiable legal-specific IT depth. Healthcare and manufacturing round out the client mix.

The awards record is legitimate. Multiple Channel Futures MSP 501 appearances across different years. CRN MSP 500 recognition in 2024. Multiple Inc. 5000 appearances. These aren’t one-off wins from a single strong year.

The honest tradeoff: team size. Stasmayer runs 11 to 50 people with primary concentration in the Lowcountry and a branch in Columbia. If you’re a multi-location enterprise running simultaneous operations across Greenville, the Upstate, and the Midlands, confirm their staffing depth before signing.

Compared to Corsica (#2), Stasmayer’s edge is review volume and SC roots. 135 Google reviews is more than the other four combined. The Clutch presence, however limited in volume, is verified. Corsica has no confirmed Clutch reviews — a meaningful gap in independently verified social proof. Stasmayer wins where evidence is auditable.

Pricing isn’t published. Stasmayer lists $150–199/hr on Clutch. Flat-fee monthly pricing isn’t public, which is typical for this market.

Best For

Charleston-area businesses in legal, healthcare, or manufacturing that want a locally-owned, long-tenured partner with documented compliance expertise and the strongest public review record of any SC MSP.

Corsica Technologies managed IT cybersecurity services Greenville South Carolina 2026

508 Rhett St, Greenville, SC 29601 | corsicatech.com Google: 4.9 (9 reviews) | Clutch: No confirmed profile | Cloudtango: MSP Select USA 2026

Corsica Technologies ranked #51 on the 2026 Channel Futures MSP 501. Globally. Not in South Carolina. Not in the Southeast. 501 providers worldwide, and this Greenville firm sits at 51.

That’s the context for what’s happening at 508 Rhett Street in downtown Greenville.

They also made the 2026 Inc. 5000 for a second time, placed on the MES Midmarket 100 in July 2026, and earned Cloudtango’s MSP Select USA 2026 designation. For a company with roughly 100 employees, that’s a concentrated run of Tier 1 national recognition across a single year, all independently published. No other SC provider on this list has an awards factor that scores a 10.

The service model is different from every other provider here. Corsica built around AI-enabled managed services, data integration, EDI, cybersecurity, and digital transformation, all at one predictable monthly price with unlimited service consumption. That model appeals to midmarket companies roughly 50 to 500 employees in size that need enterprise-grade IT without building an internal team to match. Their client base includes manufacturers, financial services firms, healthcare organizations, and nonprofits across the US.

The growth story has been aggressive. Corsica acquired AccountabilIT in late 2025, adding Microsoft security expertise and enterprise-grade capabilities to an already broad stack. The combined entity now covers cybersecurity, AI consulting, EDI, cloud management, and co-managed IT under one contract structure.

Where Corsica loses ground against Stasmayer is the review platform gap. No confirmed Clutch profile with verified client interviews. 4.9 across 9 Google reviews at their Greenville location. The Google score is excellent. The volume and the Clutch absence are why Corsica sits at 8.0 rather than higher. For a nationally ranked MSP at #51 globally, an empty Clutch profile is a score the review factor doesn’t forgive.

Compared to Cantey Tech (#3), Corsica’s edge is the awards dimension. Both firms lack Clutch presence, but Corsica’s 2026 national recognition is simply at a different tier than any other SC provider.

Best For

Upstate SC midmarket companies that want AI-enabled IT services, documented cybersecurity depth, and a nationally ranked provider with a confirmed Greenville presence. Also the call for any SC business that's evaluated the Greenville market rankings and wants statewide coverage from the same provider.

Cantey Tech Consulting managed IT services South Carolina multiple office locations

2702 Azalea Dr, North Charleston, SC 29405 | canteytech.com Google: 4.7 (75 reviews) | Clutch: No confirmed profile | Cloudtango: Listed

Ten consecutive Inc. 5000 appearances including 2025. A Channel Futures global ranking of approximately #54. CRN Next Gen 250. Best Places to Work in South Carolina.

No other SC provider on this list has collected that many independently published Tier 1 awards across that many consecutive years. The awards factor for Cantey scores a 10 — same as Corsica — but Corsica’s 2026 individual award cycle edges ahead on timing and profile.

The statewide reach is real. North Charleston, Greenville, Columbia, Spartanburg. Founded in 2007, the firm has grown through multiple acquisitions including SmartTech Consulting and Unified Network Group. LNC Partners, a private equity firm, invested in 2023. That scale gives Cantey something few SC-native MSPs can offer: staffed offices across the full state.

Their 75 Google reviews at 4.7 is the second-highest volume on this list. The 4.7 means some clients had friction. That’s expected at this size and growth pace. The 75-review depth is itself a signal of an active client base.

The compliance and cybersecurity documentation is detailed. Dedicated service pages for HIPAA, CMMC, PCI DSS, and SOX. CJIS-compliant experience with law enforcement, the South Carolina Police Chiefs Association is a named reference. A vISO (virtual Information Security Officer) offering on top of standard managed IT. For compliance-heavy SC businesses, there aren’t many providers with this combination of vertical documentation and geographic coverage.

The Clutch gap remains the score’s ceiling. No confirmed Clutch profile found for the South Carolina entity. The Columbia article noted the primary slug returned a Miami branch, suggesting Cantey’s Clutch presence may be organized around a non-SC entity. That costs them in the review factor and is why AT-NET (#4) remains competitive with a lower awards score.

Compared to AT-NET, Cantey wins on awards depth by a significant margin. AT-NET wins on review platform credibility. Both round to 7.6–7.7 at the score level.

Best For

SC businesses that need a single provider covering multiple cities statewide, documented compliance across HIPAA, CMMC, and PCI DSS, and a firm with a sustained 10-year track record of national recognition.

AT-NET Services managed IT offices across South Carolina North Charleston Columbia Greenville Greer

Offices in North Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, and Greer, SC | expertip.net Google: 5.0 (41 reviews) | Clutch: 4.9 (8 reviews) | Cloudtango: Listed

AT-NET Services scores 7.2 on the review factor. No other provider on this list — including Corsica at #51 globally and Cantey with 10 consecutive Inc. 5000 appearances — comes close to that number.

That’s because AT-NET has done something the others haven’t: gotten clients on the record across two independent platforms.

4.9 on Clutch across 8 verified phone interviews. 5.0 on Google across 41 reviews. Documented projects spanning CMMC compliance work for an aluminum manufacturer, managed IT for a wealth management firm, and cybersecurity and infrastructure for multiple construction companies. Named industries. Verified outcomes. The review evidence AT-NET has built is the credibility floor that Corsica and Cantey are still missing.

Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Charlotte, NC, AT-NET has operated in South Carolina long enough for their Columbia office to claim over 15 years of Midlands presence. Four SC offices with local engineers in North Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, and Greer. The multi-city coverage is real, not claimed.

The Channel Futures MSP 501 recognized them in 2022 and 2023 back-to-back. Those appearances are now 3 years old, which is why the awards factor scores at 6.0 rather than 9.0. Recency matters in the scoring model, and AT-NET hasn’t confirmed a 2025 or 2026 Tier 1 award appearance.

AT-NET’s HQ being in Charlotte rather than South Carolina is the physical presence score limiter. The offices are real. The engineers are in state. But a firm whose origin market is Charlotte doesn’t score the same as one whose founders started in Charleston or Greenville.

For businesses evaluating Columbia-area providers specifically, the Columbia city ranking gives AT-NET its #1 spot there on the strength of the same evidence: the dual-platform review record that no other Columbia provider has matched.

Best For

SC businesses that need statewide coverage from a single provider with auditable third-party review evidence, especially those with CMMC, HIPAA, or PCI DSS compliance requirements.

VC3 managed IT services Columbia South Carolina municipal government 2026

1301 Gervais St #1800, Columbia, SC 29201 | vc3.com Google: 4.7 (16 reviews) | Clutch: No confirmed profile | Cloudtango: MSP Select USA 2026

VC3 was founded in Columbia in 1994. No other provider on this list has been operating longer.

32 years of managed IT, headquartered at 1301 Gervais Street in downtown Columbia, with a client base that spans over 1,100 local governments across North America. Nautic Partners, a Providence-based private equity firm, holds VC3 today following a previous WestView Capital Partners investment. The company has pursued an aggressive acquisition strategy since 2021, absorbing providers in Minnesota, Ohio, Texas, California, and beyond.

The Cloudtango MSP Select USA 2026 designation is the most recent confirmed Tier 1 recognition, and combined with multiple state municipal league endorsements, it supports the 7.0 awards factor. The years factor scores a 10 — three decades of continuous SC operation earns that.

Their Google score (4.7, 16 reviews) is the most honest limitation in this ranking. Sixteen reviews for a company with 32 years and hundreds of municipal clients is low volume. But that’s partly explained by client type: municipalities and government agencies don’t leave Google reviews the way SMBs do. The Columbia city ranking corroborates this, noting that VC3’s review factor is constrained by the absence of Clutch reviews, not by any quality issue: “Zero Clutch reviews — the profile exists but shows no completed client interviews.”

For South Carolina businesses seeking IT support in the Columbia area specifically, VC3 holds the #2 spot in the Columbia ranking, behind AT-NET on reviews but ahead on local HQ presence and specialization depth.

The service stack is genuinely broad. VoIP, application development, SharePoint, Power BI, co-managed IT, private cloud hosting, and cybersecurity under one contract. CMMC and HIPAA compliance documentation is on the site. The tradeoff in the statewide context is that VC3’s SC identity has diluted with national expansion. Columbia is still the address. The attention is distributed across 22+ states.

Best For

South Carolina municipalities, county agencies, and government-adjacent organizations that want a provider built around public-sector IT with a 32-year Columbia track record.

South Carolina's IT Landscape: What Buyers Should Know

SC’s business environment creates IT requirements that vary significantly by region.

The Upstate, centered on Greenville and Spartanburg, has a dense concentration of manufacturers tied to automotive, aerospace, and defense supply chains. Defense and manufacturing subcontractors face real CMMC requirements. An MSP serving this sector needs documented cybersecurity maturity framework experience, not just a line item on a services page. Corsica and Cantey Tech both have documented CMMC program pages.

The Lowcountry, including Charleston and the coast, has healthcare practices, law firms, and a growing financial services sector. Hurricane risk is also real. A business continuity plan that doesn’t account for coastal flooding, power loss, and regional infrastructure disruption isn’t a plan. Ask any Lowcountry MSP directly how they’ve handled a major weather event for an active client.

The Midlands, anchored by Columbia, run heavily on government and public sector work. State agencies, municipalities, and county offices represent a significant IT services market. VC3 has spent three decades specifically building for that environment.

Knowing which of these sectors your business operates in is the fastest filter on your provider shortlist.

What to Ask Before Signing With an SC MSP

Does your geographic coverage actually match where my business operates? Some providers list all of South Carolina but staff primarily in one city. Ask specifically which office would dispatch engineers to your location, how many are based there, and what the standard on-site response time is.

What compliance certifications does your team hold, and can I see the documentation? HIPAA, CMMC, PCI DSS, and CJIS each require different things from an MSP. Listing them on a website is not the same as having documented policies, tested processes, and certified staff. Ask for a specific compliance implementation they’ve completed for a client in your vertical.

What’s your track record with businesses in my industry? “We serve healthcare clients” is a starting point. A reference from a practice similar to yours in size and regulatory exposure is the real test.

How does your team handle coverage during a major weather event? For coastal businesses especially, this is a concrete operational question. An MSP’s answer reveals whether they’ve actually stress-tested disaster recovery and remote support under regional disruption conditions.

South Carolina MSP Pricing: What to Expect

No provider on this list publishes flat monthly pricing publicly. Standard for this market.

Clutch’s managed services category shows most regional MSPs billing between $100 and $250 per user per month for fully managed services. The providers on this list with published Clutch hourly rates, Stasmayer and AT-NET Services, both list $150–199/hr.

Co-managed IT runs lower, typically $50–100/user per month, because it supplements rather than replaces an internal team. VC3, Cantey Tech, Corsica, and AT-NET all offer co-managed models.

For a 25-person SC business, budget $2,500–6,250/month for fully managed services at market rates. Get at least two proposals.

Questions SC Buyers Ask Before Switching MSPs

AT-NET Services and Cantey Tech Consulting are the two providers on this list with documented multi-city SC offices. AT-NET covers North Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, and Greer. Cantey covers North Charleston, Greenville, Columbia, and Spartanburg. Every other provider on this list is headquartered in one SC city and extends service from there. Ask specifically about physical engineer coverage in your location, not whether the provider’s website lists your city.
CMMC is the one to ask about first. SC’s Upstate manufacturing sector includes significant defense supply chain companies, and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification requirements have continued tightening since 2023. HIPAA is relevant for any healthcare subcontracting. CJIS matters if you work with law enforcement. A useful test: ask the MSP to walk you through a specific CMMC or NIST 800-171 implementation they’ve completed for a named client in a similar vertical. Not a list of frameworks. A project.
Less than you’d think for day-to-day support. AT-NET Services is headquartered in Charlotte, NC, yet runs four SC offices with local engineers. VC3 is Columbia-based but operates nationally across 22+ states. What matters is whether engineers who know your environment are physically close when you need on-site work. Ask where your account’s primary engineers are based.
A managed IT provider runs your entire IT function. Co-managed means the MSP supplements your internal team, handling specific pieces like security monitoring or cloud management while your staff handles the rest. All five providers on this list offer both models. Co-managed typically costs less but requires clear definition of who owns what from day one, or you end up with gaps in coverage nobody claimed.
SC pricing runs toward the lower half of U.S. regional ranges. Clutch’s managed IT services category shows the national hourly range for regional MSPs clustering between $100 and $199/hr. The SC providers here with published rates are at $150–199/hr, consistent with Charlotte or Atlanta market rates, well below Boston or San Francisco.

The Bottom Line

Stasmayer earns the top spot for reasons that don’t require much interpretation. 135 Google reviews at 5.0 is the strongest public review presence of any managed IT provider in South Carolina. Add 23 years of operation, verified Clutch presence, and a consistent Tier 1 award record and the case is clear. For Charleston-area businesses especially, it’s the natural first conversation.

Corsica Technologies at #2 is the call for Upstate businesses. No other SC provider ranked in the global MSP 501 top 100 in 2026. The Clutch gap is real and costs them in the score, but the award profile is in a different tier from anyone else in the state.

AT-NET Services has the most auditable review record of any provider on this list, across two independent platforms. For buyers who need to justify a vendor decision internally and want documented third-party evidence, that matters.

Every provider on this page was evaluated independently. The itreviews.co Trust Score methodology is published. No rankings were purchased.
