Kate Larsen, IT Research Analyst · Last updated: June 17, 2026 · No paid placements
CIO Technology Solutions ranks #1 among MSPs for hospitality in Tampa for 2026, earning a 7.1/10 Trust Score on the strength of 81 Google reviews at 4.9 stars, a verified Tampa HQ, and Clutch data confirming Hospitality & leisure clients make up 10% of their book.

MHD (6.1/10) brings 22 years of Tampa-rooted IT plus guest Wi-Fi, booking systems, and assisted-living tech experience. Every ranking reflects the itreviews.co Trust Score methodology, applied identically. No provider can buy placement.

Quick Picks

  • Best Overall: CIO Technology Solutions
  • Best Hospitality Specialist (POS + Restaurant IT): Cloudpoint Hospitality
  • Best for Multi-Property Operators: MHD
  • Best for High Review-Volume Validation: MetroTech
  • Best for Co-Managed IT in Mid-Market Groups: Symmetric IT Group

A hotel’s reservation system going down at 4 PM on a Friday before peak season costs more than the IT ticket. It costs the room nights you can’t book over the phone, the front-desk lines that build through dinner, the chargebacks from guests whose cards re-ran twice, and the OTAs that flag you as unreliable for the next month.

Tampa Bay’s hospitality industry pulled in $1.2 billion in taxable hotel revenue for fiscal year 2025, the third consecutive year over the billion mark. More than 28 million visitors generated $9.4 billion in business sales across food and beverage ($1.8B), lodging ($1.3B), recreation, and retail in 2024, and over 61,000 hospitality workers rely on the technology behind that economy to do their jobs. Hotels in Water Street, restaurants in Hyde Park, resorts on the Gulf, the convention center downtown — they all need PMS uptime, PCI-compliant payment processing, segmented guest Wi-Fi that scales for spring break, and POS systems that don’t die mid-rush.

This list ranks the five MSPs in Tampa Bay best positioned to keep that running. We scored every provider against the same six-factor Trust Score methodology, applied identically. No provider submitted their own data. No provider paid for a position. For options across every industry in the city, see our evaluation of the top MSPs in Tampa.

How We Ranked These Tampa Hospitality MSPs

We score every provider on six independently researched factors. Review data is sourced from Apify (Google Maps and Clutch) — no estimates, no invented numbers. Review counts are scaled logarithmically so enterprise-focused MSPs serving fewer, larger clients aren’t penalized for lower volume.

For hospitality specifically, Industry Specialization carries weight beyond its 10% allocation in how we read the data. A provider scoring high on hospitality vertical depth, even with a narrower service catalog, will rank above a broader MSP with no hospitality positioning. That’s why Cloudpoint Hospitality finishes second despite being narrower than a full-stack MSP. The methodology rewards what hospitality buyers actually need.

The Top 5 MSPs for Hospitality in Tampa

1
Verified Hospitality Clients and a Tampa Westshore HQ
7.1
out of 10
Trust Score
CIO Technology Solutions managed IT services for hospitality in Tampa homepage

CIO Technology Solutions is the only provider on this list with third-party-verified hospitality clients in their book. Clutch’s independently audited profile shows Hospitality & leisure represents 10% of their client mix, alongside legal, manufacturing, financial services, and medical. That’s not a marketing claim. It’s a verified Clutch profile reflecting actual paid engagements.

Key Strengths

  • 81 Google reviews averaging 4.9 stars across 15 years of operation, with reviewer tags pointing to live-answer help desk, quick resolution, and proactive maintenance.
  • A dedicated hospitality service page covering PMS, POS, payments, reservations, and Wi-Fi segmentation. Not a bullet on a service list — a real page with operational specifics for hotels, restaurants, and resorts.
  • A Clutch profile carrying a 5.0 rating across 12 verified phone-interview reviews. Most Tampa MSPs don’t get past 5 verified Clutch reviews. CIO Tech has cleared 12.
  • Founded by William Garrett in 2010, headquartered at 1300 N Westshore Blvd Ste 135 in Tampa, with local engineers, named leadership, and a US-based help desk.
  • A full MSP stack: managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud, backup and disaster recovery, vCIO and vCISO advisory, HIPAA and PCI compliance support, ransomware remediation, and co-managed IT.

Limitations

  • No Channel Futures MSP 501 or CRN MSP 500 recognition on record. Their visibility lives in Clutch and Google rather than the major MSP industry awards lists.
  • 15 years operating is solid, but two providers on this list have more (MHD at 22 years, Cloudpoint Hospitality at 42 years in hospitality specifically).
  • Best fit for SMB and mid-market hospitality operators. Large multi-property enterprise hotel groups with national footprints may want a larger MSP with multi-region account teams.

Best For

Tampa Bay hotels with 50 to 300 rooms, restaurant groups with 2 to 15 locations, boutique resorts, and hospitality operators who want a US-based help desk and an MSP that has actually run IT for hospitality clients before.

Not Ideal For

Enterprise hotel chains needing multi-region 24/7 NOC coverage from a national MSP, or buyers who require their MSP to hold a Channel Futures MSP 501 or CRN MSP 500 listing as a procurement filter.

Why They Rank #1

No other provider here combines a verified Clutch profile showing hospitality clients, a Tampa Westshore HQ with named local engineers, an 81-review Google profile averaging 4.9 stars, and a full-service MSP catalog with documented PCI and hospitality service pages. Cloudpoint Hospitality has deeper hospitality specialization but a narrower service catalog. MHD has more years operating but only 18 Google reviews and hospitality buried in a list of seven verticals. CIO Technology Solutions earns #1 because every Trust Score factor buyers can independently verify points the same direction.

2
The Only Hospitality-Only Specialist on This List
6.4
out of 10
Trust Score
Cloudpoint Hospitality restaurant POS and IT services for hospitality in Tampa homepage

Cloudpoint Hospitality has done exactly one thing since 1983: hospitality technology for restaurants, hotels, bars, and resorts. They were the Central Florida MICROS dealer for decades, deployed Micros 4700 and 2700 systems to hundreds of Tampa Bay hotels and restaurants, and became an Oracle Gold Partner when Oracle acquired MICROS in 2014. They also sell and support Toast and SpotOn for operators who want a different POS stack.

Key Strengths

  • 42 years operating exclusively in hospitality. No other provider on this list comes close — that’s years two and three of the list combined.
  • Oracle Gold Partner status, with certified Simphony, RES 3700, and e7 implementation specialists. Tampa office staff include people with direct restaurant-industry backgrounds who do their own installs and training.
  • A Tampa regional office at 3415 W Lemon St with named local operations management (John Devenny, Operations Manager).
  • A catalog covering POS sales and configuration, restaurant network management, managed networks, proactive monitoring, backup connectivity, payments workflows, online-ordering integration, EMV chip and contactless payment hardware, plus tableside ordering, loyalty, eGift, and marketing integrations.

Limitations

  • Only 5 Google reviews on their Tampa profile. The reviews that exist are 5-star, but the volume is thin. Their client base goes back decades; the public review footprint doesn’t reflect that yet.
  • No Clutch profile. For buyers using Clutch as a vetting filter, they won’t surface there.
  • The catalog focuses on POS, payments, restaurant IT, and managed networks. Not a full-service MSP. Buyers needing back-office IT (corporate-office cybersecurity, vCIO for strategy across non-hospitality operations, HIPAA for an attached medical spa) should pair them with a generalist MSP.
  • Tampa is a regional office, not HQ. Headquarters is in Maitland/Orlando.

Best For

Restaurants of any size needing Oracle/MICROS/Simphony, SpotOn, or Toast POS implementation, training, and ongoing support. Hotels needing PMS-adjacent network and POS work. Operators who want a vendor that speaks “back of house” because their installers actually worked there.

Not Ideal For

Hotels or restaurant groups needing a single MSP to handle both POS and corporate IT, cybersecurity, and compliance across non-hospitality business units. Cloudpoint partners well alongside an MSP, but they’re not the MSP.

Why They Rank #2

Cloudpoint is the test case for whether specialization matters. Score them on volume of reviews alone and they’d rank lower. Score them on whether a hotel GM running an Oracle Simphony rollout next quarter wants a 42-year hospitality specialist on the call versus a generalist MSP, and they’re the clear answer. The methodology rewards hospitality depth at 10% weight and longevity at 15%, and Cloudpoint maxes both. That’s how the score lands at #2.

3
Tampa’s Total Technology Vendor for Hospitality and Beyond
6.1
out of 10
Trust Score
MHD managed IT services for hospitality in Tampa homepage

MHD (legal name Mobile Helpdesk, Inc.) runs IT, audio/visual, security cameras, access control, low-voltage cabling, and managed network services from a 5808 Breckenridge Pkwy headquarters in Tampa. They’ve been doing it since 2003. CEO Wade Raulerson runs the operation, with a second office in West Palm Beach. Hospitality is one of six core verticals on their page, called out specifically with guest Wi-Fi, booking systems, and internal communications.

Key Strengths

  • 22 years operating in Tampa Bay, with 5.0 stars across 18 Google reviews and an active local team.
  • A bundled catalog covering managed IT plus the physical infrastructure most hotels and resorts also need: surveillance camera systems, access control for guest floors and back-of-house, structured cabling for property buildouts, and business phone systems and unified communications. One vendor instead of four.
  • Wireless nurse-call systems and a Total Technology Solution for Assisted Living Facilities. Adjacent to hospitality, and useful for hotel groups operating senior-living or extended-care properties.
  • $37M in reported annual revenue, suggesting operational scale to handle multi-property accounts.

Limitations

  • No Clutch profile, which limits one of the three independent review signals the Trust Score uses.
  • Hospitality is one of seven listed verticals (healthcare, education, hospitality, professional services, retail, religion, assisted living). Not a focus, just a service line.
  • The Glassdoor employee rating shows 2.4 stars across 22 reviews. That’s an internal signal, not a client signal, but worth knowing if you’re evaluating whether the team you’d work with is stable.

Best For

Tampa Bay hotels, resorts, and restaurant groups that want one vendor handling IT, A/V, surveillance, access control, and network cabling together. Property buildouts, renovations, or new builds where the IT, security, and A/V layers all need to roll out coordinated.

Not Ideal For

Single-location boutique hotels or independent restaurants that only need MSP services and don’t want to pay for capabilities they won’t use.

Why They Rank #3

MHD has the longest Tampa-headquartered tenure of the three full-service MSPs on this list, the cleanest Google rating, and a bundled tech stack that fits how hospitality groups actually buy. Where they slip versus CIO Tech is the depth of public review verification and the lack of a dedicated hospitality methodology beyond the vertical mention. They’re a strong pick, but the proof points are thinner.

4
MetroTech
Veteran-Owned Clearwater MSP With the Strongest Review Volume
5.6
out of 10
Trust Score
MetroTech managed IT services for hospitality in Clearwater homepage

111 Google reviews at a 4.9-star average make MetroTech the highest-volume reviewed MSP on this list. Founder Eric Plummer is a US Air Force veteran who started the company in 2005 at 1079 Cephas Rd in Clearwater. Their hospitality positioning shows up across their site, with the line “Guest-focused tech for hotels, resorts, and attractions.” They serve Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando, Manatee, and Sarasota counties.

Key Strengths

  • 111 Google reviews at 4.9 stars, the most extensive third-party review footprint of any provider on this list. Volume that’s hard to fake.
  • Veteran-owned and family-run, BBB A+ rated, 20 years operating.
  • Explicit hospitality positioning in service marketing, covering Wi-Fi, network monitoring, and POS-supportive infrastructure.
  • An active local content presence with regular blog updates covering co-managed IT, hospitality network security, and Florida-specific compliance topics.

Limitations

  • No Clutch profile, which triggers the missing-platform penalty in the Trust Score methodology.
  • HQ is Clearwater, not Tampa proper. Most clients in downtown Tampa, Ybor City, or Westshore will get remote service plus drive time for on-site work. Fine for most hospitality IT tickets, less fine if you have on-premises infrastructure that breaks at 11 PM.
  • Hospitality is a service line, not a documented practice with case studies or named hospitality compliance certifications.

Best For

Restaurants and boutique hotels in Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, and the western Tampa Bay corridor that want a high-touch local team and a veteran-owned business they can call directly.

Not Ideal For

Downtown Tampa operators needing fast on-site response, or hospitality groups that require a documented hospitality compliance practice and named PCI specialists.

Why They Rank #4

MetroTech’s review profile is the strongest on this list. What costs them is geography (Clearwater HQ, not Tampa) and the absence of a Clutch profile. Buyers in St. Pete or Clearwater proper should consider them above what the rank position suggests. Buyers in Tampa or Hillsborough County should weigh the drive-time tradeoff.

5
Symmetric IT Group
Co-Managed IT Specialist With a Side Hospitality Practice
5.5
out of 10
Trust Score
Symmetric IT Group managed IT services for hospitality in Tampa homepage

Founded by George Lakiotis in 2008, Symmetric IT Group operates from 12330 Race Track Rd in Tampa, with offices in Kansas City, Hartford, Saratoga Springs, Miami, and Orlando. The legal name is Symmetric Engineering Group, LLC. Their primary verticals are healthcare, legal, finance, construction, and insurance. Hospitality, dining, event, and travel show up on their Capterra industries list and their co-managed industries page, but not as a featured vertical.

Key Strengths

  • 4.9 stars across 31 Google reviews on the Tampa profile.
  • A full MSP stack with depth in cybersecurity, including newer AI governance and Microsoft Copilot security services.
  • 17 years operating, BBB A+ rated, with a named CEO and a documented team.
  • Co-managed IT specifically positioned for businesses with internal IT departments that need expanded coverage.

Limitations

  • A Clutch profile exists under “Symmetric Engineering Group” but is unclaimed, with zero ratings and zero reviews. That’s a credibility gap in the Trust Score model.
  • Hospitality is not a documented practice. It shows up on third-party platform industry lists and in the co-managed industries paragraph, but Symmetric’s own site lists six other verticals as primary.
  • A multi-city office footprint dilutes the “Tampa team” feeling. Hospitality buyers wanting a hyper-local team may prefer single-city operators.

Best For

Mid-market hospitality groups with an existing internal IT person or team who need co-managed support, cybersecurity depth, and Microsoft 365 expertise. Hospitality operators whose primary need is cybersecurity and compliance rather than POS or hospitality-specific systems.

Not Ideal For

Hospitality operators who want their MSP to handle the hospitality-specific stack (PMS, POS, payment-processing workflows) as core competencies. Symmetric will support those systems but doesn’t lead with them.

Why They Rank #5

Symmetric has real capabilities and a credible Tampa presence. They rank fifth because the public hospitality vertical signal is weaker than the four providers above. For co-managed IT engagements specifically, where the hospitality operator has internal IT and just needs cybersecurity and Microsoft 365 depth, Symmetric is competitive. For pure-play hospitality MSP work, the other four are better fits.

How to Choose an MSP for Your Tampa Hospitality Business

Start with the workload your IT actually carries during peak, then back into the MSP that fits. A 200-room hotel running Opera or Cloudbeds PMS, two restaurant POS systems, a spa booking platform, segmented guest and back-of-house Wi-Fi, and PCI scope across 14 payment touchpoints is buying a different MSP than a 30-seat restaurant running Toast.

By size and complexity. For a single restaurant with 1 to 3 locations running Toast or Square POS, a hospitality specialist like Cloudpoint Hospitality often beats a generalist MSP — the POS is the business. For a boutique hotel with 30 to 100 rooms, CIO Technology Solutions or MHD fits well, where a full MSP stack matters but PMS and Wi-Fi expertise are mandatory. For multi-property hotel groups at 100+ rooms per property, weight Industry Specialization heavily: CIO Tech has the verified hospitality book, MHD the bundled A/V and security infrastructure for property rollouts. For restaurant groups at 5+ locations, a hybrid of Cloudpoint (POS) and a generalist MSP (corporate IT, cybersecurity, compliance) often beats picking one or the other.

By geography. For downtown Tampa, Water Street, Ybor City, and Westshore, prioritize Tampa-HQ providers — CIO Tech, MHD, and Symmetric all qualify. For St. Pete, Clearwater, and beach properties, MetroTech is geographically closer. For multi-property groups spanning Tampa and Orlando, Cloudpoint’s regional office structure works well for restaurant POS specifically.

By risk profile. PCI DSS scope reduction is the biggest single lever for hospitality IT cost and risk — ask any candidate how they handle PCI scope segmentation and whether they’ve taken a hotel or restaurant through a Level 1 or Level 2 PCI audit. Guest Wi-Fi compromise is the most common breach vector in hospitality, so segmentation between guest, staff, and PMS networks is non-negotiable. And ransomware on hotel PMS or POS during peak season is the operational worst case, where backup architecture (offsite, immutable, tested) matters more than marketing claims.

On price. Most Tampa hospitality MSPs charge between $1,200 and $3,500 per month for SMB and lower-mid-market accounts, depending on user count, endpoint count, and the depth of cybersecurity included. POS-specific support contracts price separately and typically run $100 to $300 per location per month for restaurant POS extended support. Tampa Bay hotels saw 80.3% occupancy and $123.7 million in taxable tourism revenue in January 2025, meaning peak-season downtime carries more revenue risk now than it did three years ago — budget your IT to that, not to off-season rates. To compare every Tampa MSP side by side, see the top-rated MSPs in Tampa.

The Bottom Line

CIO Technology Solutions ranks #1 for Tampa hospitality MSPs because every Trust Score factor that’s independently verifiable points the same direction: verified hospitality clients on Clutch, 81 Google reviews at 4.9 stars, a Tampa Westshore HQ, a dedicated hospitality service page, and a full MSP stack. They’re not the longest-operating provider here, and they’re not the deepest hospitality specialist. They have the cleanest combination of both.

If your primary need is restaurant or hotel POS systems specifically, Cloudpoint Hospitality is the right call — 42 years of nothing-but-hospitality is hard to replace, even with a higher-scored generalist MSP. If you’re rolling out IT alongside A/V, surveillance, and access control across a property buildout, MHD’s bundled vendor model usually wins on coordination alone.

The fifth-best score on this list still beats picking your MSP off the first Google ad. The methodology exists so hospitality buyers can compare apples to apples without taking sales-deck claims at face value.

What Tampa Hospitality Operators Want to Know

Depends on your tech stack. Running Toast or Square as your only meaningful hospitality system, a regular Tampa MSP that supports POS hardware will usually be fine. Running Oracle Opera PMS, Simphony POS, integrated spa booking, and a 200-device segmented Wi-Fi network across a 4-star hotel, you want someone who has done that before. The cost of “we’ll figure it out” during a Simphony upgrade is measured in service tickets and lost revenue.
$1,200 to $3,500 per month for most SMB and lower-mid-market Tampa hospitality accounts. Above that for enterprise hotel groups, multi-property restaurant groups, or properties with high PCI complexity. POS extended-support contracts price separately at $100 to $300 per location per month for restaurant POS. The math gets favorable fast when you compare against the cost of a 4-hour outage on a peak Friday.
The better question is who owns the network the POS runs on. A POS vendor (Toast, Square, Oracle, SpotOn) sells you software and hardware. An MSP runs the underlying infrastructure: Wi-Fi, switches, internet, PCI segmentation, and backups. Most hospitality operators need both. The line is usually clean — your POS vendor handles their software, your MSP handles the network it sits on.
Front-of-house outage during service hours: under 15 minutes for first response from a real human, under an hour for resolution on most network or POS hardware issues. If a candidate MSP can’t commit to that in writing for hospitality clients, they’re not really set up for hospitality. Back-of-house tickets (corporate email, finance systems, non-critical) follow normal SLA tiers.
Worried enough to ask the question, not worried enough to over-engineer. Most small Tampa restaurants fall into PCI DSS Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) scope rather than full audit territory. The right MSP will help you understand which SAQ applies, set up network segmentation to reduce scope, and document controls. PCI fines are real but rare for SMBs. The bigger risk is a card-skimming breach that hits guest data and ends up in a Tampa Bay Times article. Segmentation prevents that.
For most day-to-day work, no. Remote support handles 80 to 90% of MSP tickets regardless of where the MSP sits. The exception is on-site work that needs fast turnaround. A failed switch in a downtown Tampa hotel needing replacement in under two hours is harder if your MSP is in Clearwater (45-minute drive in traffic) or Maitland (90 minutes). Operators with on-premises infrastructure should weight proximity higher than operators running mostly cloud-based systems.
